Publicis continues global reshuffle with new Starcom and Zenith leaders

Publicis Media’s massive reorganisation continued with several new leadership appointments being made across its newly-created divisions.

Kathy Ring has been named Starcom chief executive officer for the US. She is promoted from her current role as chief operating officer and president of the Los Angeles branch, and takes over from Lisa Donohue who was promoted to global president of the agency.

Zenith has appointed Sean Reardon to US chief executive from his role at digital group Moxie, maintaining his current responsibilities with Moxie as well. Reardon succeeds Lou Rossi, who becomes chief investment officer of Publicis Media network, reporting to Dave Penski.

Jason Whiting, who was global managing director at Brooklyn’s Huge digital agency, has been appointed to chief executive officer of creative agency MRY, replacing Matt Britton, who will now become chairman of Huge.

“This strong roster of leaders will drive new levels of scale, business transformation and client value,” said Publicis Media chief executive officer of Americas Tim Jones in a statement. “I look forward to working closely with these leaders as we deliver upon the promise of our organisation—a modern approach to gain efficiency and introduce structures for greater collaboration and effectiveness.”

Elsewhere, Publicis Media Asia Pacific regional chief executive Gerry Boyle has announced market leadership appointments at Publicis Media, including Bertilla Teo to the post of Greater China (China, Hong Kong, Taiwan) chief executive , Anupriya Acharya as India CEO, Gareth Mulryan as Singapore chief executive and Matt James as Australia and New Zealand CEO.

In addition, Chris Nolan is appointed chief operating officer of Publicis Media Australia and New Zealand, and Mykim Chikli is chief operating officer of Publicis Media Greater China.

“Publicis Media was launched with the vision to get to the future first and these strong, dynamic, and incredibly talented leaders will ensure we do just this,” said Boyle. “I’m excited to work with them as we deliver on our promise to invent modern approaches to gain efficiency, create greater collaboration and effectiveness and drive new levels of scale and client value.”

Publicis.Sapient has also announced an integrated leadership structure intended to develop its Razorfish and SapientNitro digital consultancies in the EMEA region, adopting a “two brands, one community, one platform” approach.

Nigel Vaz, previously Europe managing director of SapientNitro, will now oversee Razorfish across EMEA.

The various announcements follow the appointment of ZenithOptimedia boss Steve King as chief of Publicis Media, and the reorganisation of the group in to four global agency brands.
